Bengaluru-based Pagariya Foods is considering a major foray into the HoReCa with a focused approach. Promoters of Kwality brand of food products, the company has 75 plus SKUs across seven major categories.
“In the HoReCa (Hotels, Restaurants, and Catering) segment, Kwality Foods is focusing on expanding its product offerings to meet the diverse needs of this market. The company plans to introduce bulk packaging options for its popular cereals and spices,” said Dheeraj Jain, director of Pagariya Foods.
Started operations in 1998 with four products largely in the breakfast cereals segment, Kwality has expanded its portfolio of products in the spices, instant mixes, herbs and seasonings, dessert mixes, sweet mixes, and more over the decades.
With respect to HoReCa, Jain said that they were also open to collaborate and co-create products which are relevant to the HoReCa customers.
“Kwality Foods is exploring partnerships with leading hotels and restaurants to co-create exclusive product lines, to further drive growth in the HoReCa category,” he said.
Kwality Foods currently offers a diverse range of products including breakfast cereals, along with a variety of spices, instant mixes, and a pani puri kit. The company has expanded its product mix to cater to both domestic and international markets, emphasising health and natural ingredients.
“We are at a run rate of achieving INR 200 crore this financial year, reflecting steady growth in both domestic and export sales,” Jain said.
In the last fiscal year, Kwality Foods achieved a sales figure of INR 126 crore, with a significant contribution from both domestic and export markets. The company projects a growth rate of 40 percent CAGR over the next 3-5 years, with an emphasis on expanding its presence in both segments, he added.
To support the introduction of the new product range and meet increasing demand, Kwality Foods was investing in its manufacturing plant with an additional capacity expansion. This investment would not only enhance production efficiency but also enable the company to scale up quickly to meet market needs, Jain said.
Talking about the new product range which the company is working on, Jain said that the new range will be primarily on the new health-focused products, such as millet-based cereals, fortified cereals and South Indian masalas. The expansion plans also include exploring new categories such as ready-to-eat meals and plant-based proteins, with the goal of offering a comprehensive portfolio that meets the needs of health-conscious consumers globally.
