Walkaroo receives Plexconcil’s Export Excellence Award

Footwear business Walkaroo International Private Limited has received the ‘Export Excellence Award’ from the Plastics Export Promotion Council for the fourth consecutive year. The award was bestowed upon the business for its performance and contributions to India’s export sector.

Walkaroo’s award was presented by Governor of Maharashtra Ramesh Bais at a ceremony at Nesco, a large scale venue in Goregaon, Mumbai, the business announced in a press release. The awards ceremony recognised businesses which have driven growth in India’s export sector.
 
“We are deeply honoured to receive the Export Excellence Award from Plexconcil,” said Walkaroo International Private Limited’s director Abdul Rasheed in a press release. “This recognition reflects our dedication to excellence and our commitment to delivering high-quality products to our global customers. We are grateful for the hard work and dedication of our entire team, which has made this achievement possible.”
 
Rasheed received the award on behalf of the business, which was chosen from 75 plastic exporters and noted for its sustainable practices. Walkaroo manufactures and retails flip flops and sports sandals for men and women of all ages.
 
Walkaroo launched as a footwear brand in 2012 and became known for its sports sandals priced at Rs 499 for mass market appeal. The business reported a turnover of over Rs 2,140 crore in the 2023 financial year and has a network of more than 700 dealers across India.
