Abu Dhabi’s bid to become a top wedding venue has taken a significant step forward with the Abu Dhabi Convention and Exhibition Bureau (ADCEB) unveiling plans to support Indian nationals hosting weddings in the Emirate. The ADCEB, operating under the Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi, aims to solidify the UAE capital’s position as a premier wedding locale, as per an official statement.
This move aligns with Abu Dhabi’s ambitious tourism strategy for 2030, which targets a substantial increase in visitor numbers to 39.3 million over the next decade.
The initiative, catering to the burgeoning destination wedding sector, underscores ADCEB’s broader objective of enhancing both domestic and international tourism while bolstering the sector’s contribution to Abu Dhabi’s GDP, set to reach AED 90 billion by 2030.
India, renowned as a major market for destination weddings worldwide, emerges as a prime focus for Abu Dhabi’s endeavors.
The ADCEB’s commitment to supporting Indian weddings, including covering associated visa expenses, underscores its aim to position Abu Dhabi as a global leader in hosting weddings and various celebratory events.
“This initiative serves as a platform to showcase Abu Dhabi’s rich cultural heritage, diverse entertainment options, and breathtaking natural landscapes to a global audience. Weddings also play a pivotal role in driving revenue for the hospitality industry, boosting venue bookings, hotel occupancy rates, and various service sectors like wedding planning, photography, catering, and more,” the statement emphasized.
One of the standout features of the app is its single QR code system, simplifying access to booked experiences with a single scan. In addition to experience bookings, the app also facilitates essential travel services such as local commute, UAE Visa, and travel sims, streamlining the trip planning process for visitors. Furthermore, a dedicated partner app for experience providers ensures seamless guest check-ins and provides valuable features like live reporting dashboards.
