Thomas Cook India launches AI-powered platform for customised holiday planning, ET TravelWorld

Thomas Cook India, a leading omnichannel travel services company, in partnership with its Group Company, SOTC Travel, has unveiled an innovative AI-powered platform designed to revolutionise the way customers plan, customize, and book their holidays. This new platform aims to significantly reduce the time required to plan a customized trip, enabling customers to create personalized itineraries, check availability, and complete bookings within minutes.

Initially deployed with sellers, the platform will soon be available directly to customers through the company’s websites (thomascook.in and sotc.in) and mobile apps in the coming months.

Traditionally, planning a customized travel program could take up to 48-72 hours due to the need to coordinate with multiple suppliers for flights, hotels, attractions, and local transportation. The new AI-based platform by Thomas Cook and SOTC drastically reduces this time to under 10 minutes, making the process seamless and efficient.

The platform leverages Deep Learning and AI algorithms to offer intelligent, personalized recommendations based on individual customer preferences. It integrates with a global network of suppliers to provide real-time checks on the availability of flights, hotels, experiences, and local transport.

The platform includes theme-based destination rankings, flight and hotel price predictions, activity scheduling, and budget optimization, ensuring a deeply personalized and streamlined travel experience.

Australia launched a pilot program to replace paper passenger cards with a digital system for Qantas flight passengers from New Zealand. Travelers can submit immigration and customs details digitally up to 72 hours before arrival. This digital change aimed to streamline passenger experience and data handling, with an expansion planned for other airlines.

Rajeev Kale, President & Country Head – Holidays, MICE, Visa, Thomas Cook (India) Limited, stated, “The new age Indian consumer is increasingly demanding personalized trips – unique, tailor-made programs based on their preferences. Extending our digital-first strategy, I am delighted to announce our AI-powered platform, to help customers plan their customised holidays, check availability and book – in real-time. This will empower both our frontline and customers to create deeply personalized programmes in minutes. This cutting-edge AI technology will transform how Indians plan their travel, and as travel pioneers, we continue to improve our customer experience.”Daniel D’Souza, President & Country Head – Holidays, SOTC Travel, added, “We are excited to unveil our AI-powered platform to help customers plan their customised holidays in real time. This platform will ensure the delivery of real-time recommendations and optimize every aspect of trip planning – personalizing travel like never before. We believe that AI is the key to unlocking intuitive, efficient, and personalized experiences in this new age of travel, and we at SOTC are excited to lead the way.”
