SriLankan Airlines opens new office in Trivandrum, onboards GSA for South Kerala, ET TravelWorld


SriLankan Airlines, the national carrier of Sri Lanka has opened a new office in Trivandrum, Kerala initiating a fresh collaboration with Translanka Air Travels the designated General Sales Agent (GSA) for South Kerala.

The move demonstrates the airline’s dedication to bolstering its position in Southern Kerala and providing an improved service to travellers from the Pathanamthitta, Kollam, Varkala, Kovalam, Marthandam, Nagercoil, and Tirunelveli regions.

SriLankan Airlines, well-known for its extensive operations in India, started operating flights to Trivandrum in April 1980. Since that time, SriLankan has upheld reliable links between Trivandrum and Colombo, as well as numerous international destinations accessible via Colombo such as the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Australia, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Male, Singapore, and more.

At present, SriLankan Airlines runs four flights per week connecting Trivandrum and Colombo, specifically on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

Users can scan LankaQR code to make secure and quick payments without carrying cash or calculating currency conversions. The amount will be debited in INR, showing the currency exchange rate. PhonePe’s CEO, International Payments, Ritesh Pai, said the collaboration with LankaPay offers unparalleled convenience to Indian tourists who can now use a familiar and secure payment method while travelling and paying across LankaQR merchant points.

Sri Lanka is the nearest international destination to South Kerala and Trivandrum, making it a popular holiday spot for Keralites. The rising number of Indian tourists in Sri Lanka demonstrates its increasing popularity. In addition to the warm cultural connection, Sri Lanka provides a wealth of distinctive attractions, food, and experiences exclusive to its local environment.The airline expects to provide services to customers in South Kerala and Trivandrum with an enhanced emphasis on service delivery in collaboration with its new GSA and office.
