The Oilvent is a novel kitchen accessory designed to serve as the world’s first pot lid range hood. It offers a portable solution for extracting fumes, aromas, and odors during cooking, particularly beneficial for small apartments and mobile homes where traditional ventilation hoods are impractical. The device is engineered to fit over a pot, acting as a splash guard while also being dishwasher-friendly. Its centrifugal technology efficiently extracts over 90 percent of oil fumes, outperforming conventional hoods that typically have a 75 percent grease removal rate.
The Oilvent features a high-density steel mesh and activated carbon sponges to capture airborne particles and organic pollutants, thereby improving indoor air quality. Measuring 38 cm in diameter, it accommodates a wide range of pots and pans and can also function as a fly screen, water drainer, and serving platter.
The Oilvent was launched on Kickstarter for crowd-funding and has successfully surpassed its pledged goal. Prices start at $69 USD for Super Early Bird backers, which will increase incrementally until the MSRP of $138 when the campaign ends.
