Shoppers Stop elevates Kavindra Mishra as MD and CEO; makes more directorship changes, ET Retail


New Delhi: Departmental store chain Shoppers Stop has elevated and appointed Kavindra Mishra as managing director and chief executive officer, who earlier was designated as executive director and CEO of the company, it said in a regulatory filing on Monday.

His appointment is made for a period of three years effective from April 29, 2024 subject to shareholders’ approval.

Before that, he was the chief commercial officer and CEO – Homestop with the company. Prior to joining Shoppers Stop, he has also worked as the managing director and CEO of House of Anita Dongre, which has brands of AND, Anita Dongre, and Global Desi.

The board of directors of Shoppers Stop has also approved the appointment and changes in the designation of directors, at its meeting held on April 29, 2024 and with effect from the date to hold the office up to ensuing General Meeting of the company.

Ashish Hemrajani has been appointed as a non-executive independent director of the company for a term of 5 years.

Hemrajani is the founder and CEO of Big Tree Entertainment, which operates BookMyShow, a leading online entertainment platform, offering tickets and end-to-end management for live events and movies as well as sports, games, musicals and more in India.

Shoppers Stop’s board has also appointed Purvi Sheth as an (Additional) non-executive independent director of the company for a term of 5 years and Nirvik Singh as an (Additional) non-independent director non-executive of the company.
