Railways to run special unreserved Rath Yatra train between Raipur and Puri, ET TravelWorld


To reduce the additional crowd in trains during the Rath Yatra and for the convenience of passengers, a special unreserved Rath Yatra train service is being provided between Raipur and Puri for two trips.

The train, numbered 08383, will depart from Raipur on July 6 and 14, 2024, at 6.00 am and will reach Puri at 11.00 pm on the same day. Similarly, the return train, numbered 08384, will depart from Puri on July 8 and 16, 2024, at 2.45 am and will reach Raipur at 4.00 pm on the same day. This train will run with 18 coaches.

The amount also includes compensation for landowners. “This project will help ease travel to Silchar, Mizoram and Tripura, connecting Guwahati in Assam,” Tynsong told PTI in an interview. The remaining INR 12,000 crore has been earmarked for the construction of the remaining 4-lane road in neighbouring Assam. The proposed 4-lane road will replace the existing National Highway-6 which is in deplorable condition along various stretches in Meghalaya’s East Jaintia Hills district.

The commercial stoppages for this train are Raipur, Mandir Hasaud, Mahasamund, Bagbahara, Khariar Road, Nawapada Road, Harishankar Road, Kantabanji, Muribahal, Titlagarh, Kesinga, Rupra Road, Narla Road, Lanjigarh Road, Ambadola, Muniguda, Bissam Cuttack, Therubali, Singapur Road, Rayagada, Parvatipuram Town, Parvatipuram, Bobbili, Vizianagaram, Chipurupalli, Sigdam, Ponduru, Srikakulam Road, Tilaru, Kotabommali, Naupada, Palasa, Mandasa, Sompeta, Ichchapuram, Brahmapur, Chatrapur, Ganjam, Khalikote, Balugaon, Kaluparaghat, Nirakarpur, Kaipadar Road, Argul, Haripurgram, and Puri.
