Valve has launched its own game recorder which is accessed in beta and it functions as a native recorder integrated into Steam Deck. There, users can either set the function to immediately start recording in the background as they are playing or set it to start and stop recording at a certain time when a hotkey is pressed.
When users choose to record in the background, there is the control of specifying the maximum amount of storage recordings that it can take. Notably, Steam Deck will also overwrite any old recordings once that set limit is reached. Users can also Replay and watch over previous footage that has been collected in the Steam Overlay to analyze their performance.
