IndiGo expands int’l capacity to Central Asia, enhances connectivity to Tashkent, Almaty & Tbilisi, ET TravelWorld


In response to the growing demand for international travel, IndiGo, India’s leading airline, has announced the doubling of its flights from Delhi to Almaty and Tbilisi starting August 16, 2024, and to Tashkent starting August 17, 2024. The airline will now operate daily flights to Tashkent, Almaty, and Tbilisi, increasing from the previous schedule of 4 flights per week to Tashkent and 3 flights per week to Almaty and Tbilisi.

Since launching operations to Tashkent, Almaty, and Tbilisi in 2023, IndiGo’s expansion reflects its commitment to enhancing capacity on international routes. This strategic move will bolster trade, tourism, and mobility between India and Central Asia, offering customers more travel options to Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Georgia. With these additions, IndiGo now provides daily flights to all four Central Asian destinations: Tashkent, Almaty, Tbilisi, and Baku.

IndiGo announces codeshare agreement with Japan Airlines

The codeshare partnership is slated to commence in the winter 2024 schedule, subject to government approval. This initiative marks a significant step in enhancing bilateral travel and strengthening economic ties between Japan and India. Further details regarding the specific codeshare routes will be announced in due course. The codeshare agreement will initially cover domestic routes within India that connect to JAL’s flights from Delhi and Bengaluru.
