IHG expands in Nepal with signing of Crowne Plaza Resort in Nepalgunj, ET TravelWorld


IHG Hotels & Resorts has expanded its presence in Nepal by signing a management agreement with Mansarovar Amusement Park & Resort to develop the Crowne Plaza Resort Nepalgunj. This new-build hotel, featuring over 100 keys, is scheduled to open in early 2028 and will further strengthen IHG’s growing portfolio in the South West Asia region.

Nepalgunj, located in the Banke District, is a vibrant city and a major transport hub for western regions of Nepal, making it a convenient stopover for travellers between Nepal and India. The city is famous for its treks to the Dolpo Plateau and Jumla region, and offers a strategic stopover spot on the pathway to the Himalayas, providing a unique blend of culture, adventure, and nature.

Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, expressed his excitement about the strategic location of the hotel, which will provide an opportunity to offer world-class premium hospitality and cater to the demands of guests across leisure, business, and blended travel.

The hotel, once opened, will offer exceptional culinary experiences across three F&B venues, a fitness center, club lounge, rejuvenating spa, as well as a retail store. Additionally, to cater to MICE demands, the hotel will be equipped with two meeting rooms, including a ballroom.

IHG currently operates 50 hotels across five brands in South West Asia, with a strong pipeline of 64 hotels due to open in the next 3-5 years.
