IHCL partners with CG Hospitality to expand presence in Indian subcontient, ET TravelWorld


Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), the largest hospitality firm in India, has announced a significant strategic partnership with CG Hospitality to expand its presence in the Indian Subcontinent. This collaboration aims to grow the portfolio to 25 hotels by 2025, focusing on destinations that offer adventure travel experiences across the Indian Ocean and Greater Himalayan regions as well as wildlife escapes.

The partnership builds upon IHCL’s longstanding association with CG Hospitality, a member of the esteemed CG Corp Global for over two decades.

Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director & CEO of IHCL, expressed excitement about this next phase, stating, “This collaboration under the platform – Ekyam, will explore opportunities to manage hotels across regions around the Himalayas and Indian Ocean, strengthening our presence in the wildlife sector.”

Currently, IHCL’s operating footprint in the Indian Subcontinent and Middle East includes iconic properties like Taj Exotica Resort & Spa, Taj Coral Reef Resort & Spa in Maldives, Taj Samudra in Sri Lanka, Taj Jumeirah Lakes Towers in Dubai, and Taj Safaris luxury lodges in India and Nepal.

Rahul Chaudhary, MD, CG Hospitality, highlighted the platform’s commencement with the existing portfolio of 11 operating hotels, with a commitment to onboard 14 more hotels under this partnership. The investment in operational and upcoming hotels has exceeded INR 1,250 crores.

The group sees immense potential in diverse offerings, including Ayurvedic wellness retreats, wilderness lodges, historical palaces, lifestyle hotels, and upscale accommodations.
