Greenlane Holdings, Inc. has revealed plans to introduce an innovative range of fentanyl, xylazine, and drink spike detection test strips under its newly formed subsidiary, Safety Strips, Inc. These detection strips are designed as a proactive measure to address the growing concerns around drug-related threats, particularly in environments like nightclubs, bars, and other social venues. The test strips aim to safeguard individuals from the dangers posed by substances commonly associated with drug-facilitated crimes, such as date rape drugs.
The drink spike detection strips, in particular, align with recent legislative actions, notably California’s Assembly Bill No. 1013, passed in July 2024. This bill mandates that clubs and bars offer drug-testing devices that detect controlled substances in beverages for sale to customers, providing businesses with a reliable solution to ensure safety.
By launching this product line, Greenlane Holdings is hoping to address the need for greater personal security in public spaces.
