Delhi airport first to launch govt’s Fast Track Immigration-Trusted Traveller Programme, ET TravelWorld

Delhi Airport, operated by Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has become the first Indian airport to launch the Government of India’s innovative Fast Track Immigration-Trusted Traveller Programme (FTI-TTP). This initiative, inaugurated by the Minister of Home Affairs, Amit Shah at Terminal 3, promises a smoother journey for Indian passport holders and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders by allowing them to bypass regular emigration/immigration queues and utilise e-gates.

The FTI-TTP is a visionary initiative aimed at providing Indian nationals and OCI cardholders with a faster, easier, and more secure travel experience. Eligible individuals can apply online, with the registration process taking up to one month. Applicants must ensure their passports have at least six months of validity at the time of application, as membership will be co-terminus with passport validity.

The application process requires submitting biometrics (fingerprints and facial image) and other required information, with registration completed after necessary verifications.

Enhanced efficiency at Terminal 3
Delhi Airport’s Terminal 3 is now equipped with eight electronic gates – four for arrivals and four for departures – to facilitate a seamless experience for programme participants. This first-of-its-kind facility in India aims to significantly reduce congestion at airports by offering expedited clearance for pre-verified travelers. The number of e-gates may increase based on demand.

Commenting on the development, Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, CEO, DIAL, expressed pride in the partnership with the Government of India, stating, “This programme will offer a world-class and seamless travel experience to all international passengers opting for this facility. The Trusted Traveller Programme allows Indian passport holders and OCI cardholders to utilise these e-gates, bypass regular queues, and enjoy a smoother journey. This technology-driven initiative is designed to make the emigration/immigration clearance process faster and simpler.”

Delhi Airport introduces India's first quick drop solution for self-service bag drop

With 50 SSBD units now operational across Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, passengers can experience a streamlined and efficient baggage drop process. This initiative aims to significantly reduce wait times and enhance the overall passenger experience. DIAL has further enhanced this process with the introduction of the Quick Drop Solution, which eliminates the need for boarding pass or biometric validation.

Similar to the United States Department of Homeland Security’s Global Entry Program, the FTI-TTP allows pre-approved, low-risk travellers to benefit from expedited immigration and security clearance upon arrival. The Ministry of Home Affairs, in collaboration with the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Bureau of Immigration, has developed the roadmap for the FTI-TTP.How to register for FTI-TTP
1. Apply through the government website [www.ftittp.mha.gov.in](http://www.ftittp.mha.gov.in) and provide the required details.
2. The Bureau of Immigration will verify the details.
3. Upon verification, approved passengers will receive an email or SMS to proceed to biometric enrolment at the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) or a dedicated counter at Delhi Airport.

This new initiative underscores the Government of India’s commitment to enhancing travel convenience and efficiency for Indian nationals and OCI cardholders, positioning Delhi Airport as a leader in modernising immigration processes.
