Agoda data shows 52% increase in Asian travel searches from Europeans; India up 26%, ET TravelWorld

As summer approaches in Europe, travellers are setting their sights on Asia, according to data from digital travel platform Agoda. The report reveals a significant rise in interest with 52 per cent increase in accommodation searches by Europeans for travel to Asia compared to last year.

India turned out to be hot spot experiencing a 26 per cent surge from European holidaymakers. Thailand, Indonesia and Japan remain the top destination in Asia followed by the Malaysia and the Philippines. This diversity reflects Asia’s broad appeal, catering to various interests, from bustling cityscapes and historical sites to surfing beaches.The UK, France, Germany, Spain and the Netherlands lead the pack in European markets searching for Asian adventures. India itself Ranks ninth, with travellers from the UK showing the most interest followed by Germany, Spain, France and the Netherlands.

Ayodhya and Sydney lead as top summer getaways for Indian tourists

Indian families are prioritising budget-friendly travel this summer. Value for money is the top motivator with Ayodhya leading domestic searches and Sydney topping international. Spiritual travel is on the rise while families also seek beach and cultural destinations. Europe sees a surge in interest with UK, Germany and Spain popular. Travellers prioritise family bonding, exploration and comfort, with air conditioning a must-have amenity.
